LA SkyRail Express
SkyRail would provide a fast, safe, lower cost, and much-needed rail alternative in the shortest construction time to the heavily-traveled, 15-mile, Sepulveda Pass, where over 400,000 people travel each weekday. SkyRail would connect UCLA/Westwood and the San Fernando Valley through the 405 freeway and Sepulveda Blvd across the Santa Monica Mountains to enhance how Angelenos live, work, and play.
SKYRAIL IS A REAL, SMART ALTERNATIVE
LA SkyRail Express was the highest ranked team awarded a Predevelopment Agreement (PDA) by LA Metro for a new, high-capacity transit line that will connect the San Fernando Valley with the Westside and eventually LAX.
SKYRAIL IS A PROVEN TECHNOLOGY
SkyRail is the world’s most advanced, driverless, straddle-type monorail system, representing state-of-the-art technology that has evolved over nearly 60 years from an amusement park ride to a service proven, high-capacity, sustainable, urban rapid transit solution.
SKYRAIL HAS BECOME THE NEW SYSTEM OF CHOICE
SkyRail technology was chosen to seamlessly integrate into several of the world’s largest modern cities, including São Paulo, Bangkok, Cairo, Tokyo, and Chongqing, all of which had existing Heavy Rail Transit (HRT) and urban environments where high-capacity service was needed.
